Plan to attack illegal connections and copper theft

Law enforcement entities, including the South African Police Service (Saps), are planning an illegal connection "attack" they believe could cut up to two stages of load-shedding as part of a broader operation cracking down on crimes against Eskom, Sunday Times reports.

The publication learnt this from Saps spokesperson Brigadier Ahtlenda Mathe, commenting on a raid of a coal smuggling syndicate led by the South African Revenue Service (Sars) on Thursday, 12 October 2023.

Pointless...
We are too far down the road of shithole status.

You, you and you. Come stand here for a photo. We going to take photo and then say you were arrested for illegal activities.... No, no, don't running away now. Its is just for propoganda. You are free again and will get R5000 and KFC voucher.....

Oh, nice now there so many of you. Good good. We say we brought down the illegal electricity theft mafia. Nice nice.....

/eish, Thabs, we have some extra R5000's there? Yes, yes, Thabs, we take the pothole money.

Okay, don't smile.... 3....2...1...

Pointless, they'll all be back in a few days. Corruption is too entrenched to just go away.

Silly gabble in my view. I work on a site where the illegal connections are in plain sight and now and then the municipality with armed security will disconnect a few; for a few hours. Overall the municipal "police" and SAPS are terrified of the mob and that is in daytime. At night they will not move at all.

At least we will know how the back of their heads look like and their behinds. Good to know criminals have so many rights and we don't.

Lol the first line :- Law enforcement entities, including the South African Police Service (Saps)

It's as if saps isn't a "law enforcement entity"

Maybe they right because most of saps are as corrupt as the people/brothers they supposed to catch.

Do you know what happens if you "attack" an illegal connection?
I surmise it looks something like this:

I saw a video of a man being burned alive. Eventually he fell to the ground. I am not sure what killed him, gravity or the electricity but even if he survived the fall there was nothing left of his body. I am thankful for prepaid, I pay for power when I can afford it and go without it when I can't. It is just better then this.

The police will only stand by and observe while the gangsters rip the copper out of the ground, even if it is in front of the police station.
