Just saw on Carte Blanche that Planet Wheels sell cars and don't pay the sellers. The way they do it is not illegal, but is VERY immoral. Almost bought a car from them, luckily i didn't. Not keen to deal with those immoral SOB's

wtf is Planet Wheels...

and how is not paying the rightful owner of a vehicle the proceeds from the sale of said vehicle not illegal?

Ok, they eventually get around to paying you, but the way they write their contract is quite sneaky. They are quite a big car dealership. Owner has 7 million rand worth of houses paying off bonds of 80k a month, but guys have been waiting for cars they have sold over a year ago to be paid off still.

Just read through the story on the site...

Thats highly unethical... BUT when it comes to things like selling a car.. I'd read the contract carefully and anything that says something like estimating payout in 30 to 60 days would ring massive alarms bells.

Yea when i bought my car i read through the stuff, and only when i read it did the oke start telling me a few things he should have told me already it was nothing big though.

Still estimation of 30-60 days and then not paying out after a year is quite ***. They also paid one dude 5000 short, telling him they needed to do repairs to the car. Never provided paperwork for the repairs tho.

It is defintely unethical. When Derick asks her why doesnt she sell one of her properties to pay the people she owes money to, she says the property market is not right, and times are tough. So in tough times she is ok holding back other peoples monies... Quite sad. Will never do business with them!

That wench that owns the place was soo smug I wanted to clime in my TV and smack her upside the head......

Hopefully her business goes under and she loses the nice houses now. No sympathy for people who employ vulture and hyena tactics in business.

Lets all get hold of them and waste their time :)

Maybe take a car or two for a test drive, scrapping rims or something.......

also saw the show and they say she has a place in Helderkruin. I think i will ask my father if she is his neighbour.

Trouble with buggering up their stock is that it doesn't belong to them...that witch will simply charge the owner for a new set of rims, or whatever else you do to the car! She belongs behind bars, end of story.

She may just do a dodgy deal with the wrong person. I'm surprised she turns up for work, considering the risk!

Wow I brought my last car from them! I didn't have any issues with purchasing though, in fact I found them very professional...But guess you never know what goes on these days.

Are you sure that the car is actually in her name...she seems to forget that that is necessary sometimes!!

Yea she was sooo smug. She was enjoying it quite a bit.

Cant believe it - directly after that show they lie to their customers. They said that the program was recored 6 months ago and all problems have been solved.

The telephone account showed on the program was the December account.

Carte Blache recorded that program last week of January.

I unfortunately am one of their victims, i gave my car to them last year already and my contract does not state "an estimated 60 days" instead it says, it "will take 30 days" to receive settlement after being sold! I am totally screwed, as they have now closed down their business and ran away with R280 000 or/and my 2008 Mercedes Benz - I have been very suspicious of them since they missed the 30days, and was in process of laying a case against them, problem is that everyone there was in on the scam and it seemed like a reputable company, they were selling cars of R425k. I'm not sure what to do, my lawyer does not seem as if he knows what to do either- so if u're a GOOD lawyer please email me... [email protected]

Hi Roxanne, i remember them throwing up a couple of numbers to call after the Carte Blanche episode. They mentioned something about calling those numbers if you have been caught in this planet wheels scam. If you would like i can try find the ep on DSTV on demand and find the numbers for you.
