Who are the reputable tour companies? I need to start getting quotations for a trip there next year for a couple of people.
I am looking for bed & breakfast (meal wise) and some group activities if possible. Budgeting about R15K p.p. (hope that's enough). What are the peak periods? I plan to go march/april (before easter)

Prob also going in April next year but we will stay in Cap Malheuruex. We ahve family in Mauritius so not sure about tours, ask the bnb to give you recomendations.

Just making sure. The budget obviously depends on how long you're planning on staying.
4-5 days, but looking at online specials you get up to 7 days from about R10k p.p.s. But I want the extra luxuries, don't want nasty surprises.

remember to add taxes which can be from 2k - 3, 5 k per person, dunno how different places can charge different taxes.

Most hotels in Mauritius have all inclusif - well worth it. Free unlimited food and drink(local)
15k is alooooooot.
You can get a 4Star with All inclusif for 10k if you book now.

Isnt April may monsoon season there?

Thats just one person.. And every thing inclusive (also taxes)..
Accom+food was R10k and flights range from R6k-R7k (ticket price is like R3k, the rest is just damn taxes!)
If you have vitality and discovery card, you get some good discounts when paying with it.

just curious i have been looking now in december and you could get that at a 3 star resort all inclusive for that price in peak season with no discounts. please let me know when you get back what you thought of the place please?

Will do :)
I wouldn't have minded staying in a 3* but my mom was adamant that she wanted a 5*..
It also includes all water related activities, with the exceptions of motorized ones.. you have to pay for petrol...

yeah one thing i have heard is that you cannot compare our local ratings with theirs.

enjoy man

Def recommend to go on an all inclusive package. Book tours locally however, if you going to Mauritius spend most of your time at the resort, loads of activities to do there (sailing, snorkelling, beach games, skiing etc). Must do tour is the catermeran (sp) with a braai and snorkelling in the middle of the ocean.

I stayed at Le Preskil in the South, was amazing - food, activities, location, staff etc
