Hi guys.

I am so distressed.
My lovely (expensive) 64 inch plasma has an image retention of the Disney channel logo!
I know the kids watch far too much TV and Disney is mostly on.

Now 2 points.

1. How can I remove it?

2. Can I sue Dstv or Disney channel for keeping that static image in the same position all the time!

Here are some pics. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1367044578.941909.jpg

You can't sue them.

Are you sure it's screen burn and not just Image Retention? Most of the time it's the latter and goes away. Try flicking some images through the screen for an hour or so (most plasmas have this feature in the menu)

I'd be surprised if there was a solution. But them a fat bum tv and put it in their room. And no Disney is not responsible for your kids watching the channel so much you have screen burn.

How often do they watch? I'm trying to think how much hours on the same channel.

I'll try that...but this is been there for a week now and I've encouraged the kids to avoid that channel.
Is there an objective way to tell the difference?

Have you run the pixel shift or that scrolling white screen....? That normally helps clears it sometimes though I've never had issues with my 59" Sammy.

+1
It is most likely just retention. Modern displays just doesn't burn in that easily. Find that menu option (check your manual for the info), let it run for a few hours and I'm 90% sure your troubles will be a thing of the past. If that doesn't help, we'll try something else (I am the proud owner of a cartoon network retention, gonna sort it after the rugby tonight).

I'm not convinced that pixel shift actually works. It usually only shifts a maximum of 4 pixels at a time and logos are naturally much bigger than that. I would still get IR even with pixel shift.
Probably just a gimmick.

I have pixel shift enabled from day one and it does squat, still got logo retention.

Hi guys.

Did the scrolling thing for a couple hours. No joy :(
So it must be screen burn...this is pathetic for such a high end model.

Postman pot...comments please.
