Plasma screen burn

...and this is why I continue to avoid plasma's. There are too many people I know who've had similar issues with plasma TV's.

There are just as many, if not more having trouble with other technologies. Just check the forums.

Sssssh you'd scare the plasma fanbois, burn-in is a myth it doesn't exist, this thread is a lie ;-).

I took PP advice

He meant when viewing decrease the cell brightness and then run the scrolling thing for longer on a high brightness . I see it reads a bit confusing but that is what he meant. The white screen is also worth trying....

Ja this. Thanks Zen.

Both my plasmas have absolutely no burn in whatsoever

It cannot happen if you do not use it. So much for the new technology preventing burn in. I hope the OP can resolve the problem..

As an owner of a rather ancient plasma by now, I'd not do anything about burn in/image retention (same thing). Just let it be. Most likely it will go away. That's my experience with old Japanese made plasmas.

Your screen will deteriorate. As with all things in life. Move on and don't worry about it.

Will the white screen left on create a giant burn on the screen?
The logo is white and left that mark.

I don't know if that is good advice...what say ye PP

Start with the scrolling at high brightness/cell light. Then you can at least do things while it (hopefully) works.

I also had screen burn in on an old Samsung Plasma whilst playing too much Fifa and I actually had burn in from the static overlays from the game. I was also distressed but let the scrolling screen run at higher cell brightness for about 2 days and the burn in was much less, but two years down the line it was still there. I now own a LED TV... Much less worry, lot less power usage. TVs are expensive and they shouldn't add to life's worries.
