Plasma TV nightmare

Congrats, I've got a PS50C430 and I'm not sure if I've got a problem or not. When the screen shows black and I'm very close to screen it shows Red/green(I'm colour blind) specs dancing around on the screen. It doesn't bother me at my normal viewing distance, I would like to know if this is the same issue that you had?

It's one of the "more common" problems. I would investigate a swap out/repair. I would tell them you only want it picked up once the relevant parts are in stock, so you aren't without your TV for a few weeks.

Thanks Postman, will this get worst over time? Like I said it doesn't bother me at my normal viewing distance so would like to know if its worthwhile going through the schlep of getting it repaired or replaced.

Yes it will worsen over time. That's how mine started.

That sucks, I phoned deals direct and they said I can bring it in and they will send it for repairs or I can phone samsung directly. Probably best to take it back to Deals direct from what I've heard about dealing directly with Samsung?

Well the problem is more with Samsung's repair agents, who aren't Samsung themselves. To be honest I'd tell Samsung, they initiate the repair, thereafter I'd only deal with (annoy/harass) the repair agents.

Not surprised, electronics fail at times. And entry plasma's sell more than entry LCD's (at least around here :D). There are bound to be some bad apples. And still, 90%+ plasma buyers on this forum are still thrilled with their purchase. So ja. The few who have problems say nothing about the brand. Take up your vendetta with Samsung if you aren't a happy chappy. Go and try LG. ;)

Thanks for your brilliant words of wisdom, i feel enlightened :D
90% + happy buyers??, is there a database of happy Samsung buyers im not aware of?

You could say so, I probably spend a bit more time in here than you.

That's what happens when you use "Hello Peter stuff" as a basis. Complaints exceed compliments 10 to 1. Sure you understand this.

i'm Pretty sure im on here just as much as you, i just dont always reply on everything
Hellopeter :
SAMSUNG : 75 Compliments 418 complaints
LG : 39 Compliments 231 Complaints
There is not a specific "plasma category"

You missed the point. Using complaints as the determining factor is ridiculous. Of course you are going to see more complaint threads/reports than compliment threads/reports.

Over this now and I'm done playing your petty game. Samsung/LG plasma's pwn at the low end of the market, 90%+ are happy. If you get a bad apple, unlucky, understand the nature of electronics.

Polluting each and every thread with anti Samsung drivel based on a separate repair company's performance is getting tiresome. Rather phone a manager, you will achieve more for the consumer that way.

So how is him saying looks like another bad Samsung any different from you constantly going on as if it's the greatest thing since John Crapper found out that a flushing toilet is far superior to chucking it into the street?

+1
you beat me to it!!

as soon as the word "LCD" comes up in any thread you can rest assure PP wil come through "for SPORT/TV and standard TV plasma is the best"
You pollute these forms more than i do, you think it’s okay giving your personal opinion about the Samsung plasma as with you own experiences, but when i do it im wrong?
Please, get a clue

My position is that at the entry level of the market, plasma > LCD. Regardless of brands. That's why.

Then if someone asks, I will rather recommend Samsung, on the basis that they are the most popular, and because I've received better service from them than LG (PC LCD's).

I would never say "Don't consider LG at all", or "Don't consider Panasonic at all". That's what you're saying, which is where you're confused.

Huge difference between what I do and what you do. Only someone who quotes Hello Peter as a basis for buying products would think it's a fair comparison.
