I drove past a large board opposite Montecasino which just says 'Platinum' with a website. That's it.

So got to work and went to the website (www.platinumjhb.co.za) and it also only has 'Platinum' with a 'launching in' countdown.

What is it? A new club or something?

ABSA Private is R650k/pa... not sure why you have to pay more for Platinum banking... even FNB's platinum banking is about half that - and the service you'll get is WAY WAY better

I have a costs sheet thingy...

With FNB's platinum banking - you get a dedicated banker who does everything you need done, no running around, etc. Also, with a lot of accounts, etc, you want to open, you don't need to provide 3-months bank statements, etc.

With ABSA Private Banking - they deliver cards, etc to you in person - no need to go stand in bank queue's, etc...

With both, you get better interest rates on loans, etc.... I think my cc interest is 16.5%... (before recent decrease)

With ABSA Private, its not really a status symbol, as the card is just plain black...

The thing that I hate about Platinum cards is that it looks the same as silver. That sucks.
