We're off to the doc next week for std tests, and when we get the results, there'll be no boring bedroom antics, I like a challenge, he's in for it !

Context means everything. Does he spank you in a sexual context when you are being intimate or in social situations in leau of a hug or kiss on the cheek?

If the former he is either being sexually playful or he is a bit dom and testing you for submissiveness or more likely than not he is gauging you for sexual reciprocation. If you wish to reciprocate do it and go from there. If you are a sub and are looking for a dom for some BDSM bring it up after sex.

If it is a friendly social thing then he probably did it because he felt comfortable enough with you to be playful like that and since you have accepted it it has become a social ritual.
