If I setup a small network at home will I need to have a BF2 DVD in each of the computers on my network in order to play multilayer or is it possible have all PC's point to one DVD ROM?

You don't need to log into the account server to play, you can even join a single-player game (When you play single-player in BF2, BF2 creates a server, and then connects you to it).
If you want your unlocks then you have to :
- login to the account server.
- AND play on a Ranked server.
Otherwise, download the BF2 server software, run it on a spare computer and ... wham ... everyone can join.
I use DEAMON tools to host my DVD on my PC, my BF2 DVD is never used.
But, you still need all players on the server to have different "CD KEY's".
Rebel, just buy BF2 straight, unless you can actually find the combo-pack.
If you really want the Special Forces Expansion / Armoured Assault Booster / Euro Force Booster you can get hold of them later.
However, there is a world of FREE expansions for this game that you can delve into instead.
Some really good ones are AIX and Project Reality.
Just google search for BF2 addons.
@TheNarrow : Could they play on the same server even though they had duplicate CD keys?
