Hi guys,

I tried playing BF2 this weekend with my local only account and no joy. It seems the game tries to make a international connection to log into the gaming account before kicking off the local game.

Do you guys know if there's a way around this? I'm worried that the local only account is then going to be a waste for me :(

Hey Chavez,

I played BF2 and BF2142 the entire saturday on my local only account. It was only yesterday afternoon that BF2 struggled to make a connection, but BF2142 was fine (although a bit slow logging in) all weekend through.

So all I can say is, just be patient with it when logging into BF2.Sometimes it logs in quick, other times not so quick. Most of the time so far it did work for me. It works perfectly for FEAR and COD2.

If I think of something else that might help, I will let you know.

my advice is search the forums for routesentry

use your local account with a 1 gig int account and it works well

^^^

Yeah, Routesentry FTW

IMHO using Openweb after being capped I only managed once to login to EA during the day and after 5pm it took about 5min..

Routesentry will be your friend if you are going to be playing BF2 which is a MAJOR bandwidth hog :)

Also visit the SGS forums to get more info about Routesentry and to meet some of the ppl who will be fragging you online ;)

My concern with Routesentry is that I need to install it on every pc in house. As far as i know most ISP's only allow single connections? Can't really explain to the wife she may not browse the net while I play...not going to go down well :D

All OpenWeb accounts allow for 2 concurrent connections, except for our Uncapped :)

Maybe a get a 1GB + 10GB Local account as your international

Yeah, I play BF2142 using RouteSentry and a local-only account. Works alot better than trying to authenticate with ONLY and local-only account.

chavez its simple really simple

you set up routesentry on your pc

you then put the international account details into your route (make sure you int isp allows more than connection)

your wife will use bandwidth off of the router you will use viat route sentry

thats how i have it set up in my house

i have routesentry running with openweb 30 gig and axxess 5 gig

o yes
