Playing online games and streaming simultaneously

Hi

Me and my wife are strongly considering cancelling our DSTV subscription and only focus on Netflix and Hulu (already have a Unotelly account). I currently have a 4mbps premium line with Mweb. I have no problem to stream shows on Netflix even on two different devices simultaneously, but for online gaming, for instance dota 2, the ping becomes unstable if my wife is watching Netflix in the other room.

Unfortunately our area does not support Fiber lines, so the only option I have is to upgrade to a 10mbps premium line. What I want to know is if this upgrade will help, or will it be a waste of money (as it is really expensive)?

Is there anyone that experience no additional strain with gaming while simultaneously streaming Netflix and what do you have to make this possible.

Upgrade to to the 10mb, use QOS to set the streaming computer to have 4MB down, leave the rest for the remaining devices, problem solved.

I don't Game, but from reading on here, 10mbps or more should cover you for simultaneous activity on the line. At least from a streaming perspective, multiple usage I've had no issues on an 8meg line

My GF watches Netflix and I game fine on a 10mb/s connected at 8mb/s.
