Playstation 2 - anyone still play?

So I dusted off my old PS2 and it still works.

Don't want to shell out for a shiny new console at this stage.

Wondering if anyone still rocks a PS2 these days?

I see BT Games still carries PS2 games, and they even made FIFA 14 for PS2. Anyone played it?
 
My PS2 still works but I prefer to use the original phat PS3. But yeah I'm still into the PS2 games. Recently re-played Timesplitters 2. Still a classic. :love:

I was amazed they still produced a game as recent as fifa 14...

Yep. That console sure had a long lifespan. It saw to the death of my beloved Dreamcast, but I forgave it a long time ago. :p
 
I tried to play GTA 3 the other day and it was great. The nostalgia was lovely but my old PS2 is not firing on all cylinders. The laser is on its way out so its back in a box in the garage with about 100 games.

My plan is to make a cabinet in my lounge and put all my old tech in it like my vcr, ps2, mnet decoder etc.
 
Dusted mine off on Sunday. The only games that still work is Okami, Tekken 5, RE4 and The Suffering.
 
I still have my PS1 (the slim) but no games unfortunately :p
 
Don't have a ps2 anymore, and since my Ps3 Phat died, the games are gathering dust. Only kept a few back, GOW, and i think a few others. Anyone interested?
 
How does the compatability work? I take it PS2 games don't work on a PS3/4 and similarly PS3/4 games don't work on a PS2?

PS2 games worked on the first PS3s that came out. They took that functionality away with later models. PS3 games cannot be played on a PS4.

There was compatability on the PS3 phat (1st gen) otherwise no. Some of the games have been released as digital downloads though.
 
It's FAT ffs, like Julius Malema, not phat like beats. Phat is for the XBAWX 360.

Anyways, the PS3 Fat, Slim and Superslim models can all play PS1 games.

Fat can play PS2 games as well.

PS4 can't play anything else because **** us poor consumers. Sony probably realised that no-one will buy their ludicrously-priced PS4 games if it could play the PS3 versions which are much cheaper and there's not a huge difference in quality between the two.

Its not a fat either, its just was some people call it.
