Playstation 2 - anyone still play?

Its not a fat either, its just was some people call it.
None of those names are official, Sony only uses the model numbers. Still it's never the PHat, the only place that's ever used is MyBB for some reason.

Ma man. Its used all over the interwebz. Even on SA Gamer.

I went and sold my PS2 when I got my 360. Dumbest move I have ever made. I really miss that console. I was very fussy about laser wear and dumped all my games to iso, stored them on my media centre PC and played them over the network. I still consider the PS2 to be the best console of all time.

I must say I'm also glad I didn't sell mine as I was trying to earlier this year.

Hooked up some Tekken, FIFA 14 and NFS last night. Quality stuff.

Seems to be making a rather loud noise but that might just be what it's always sounded like. Still working 100s anyway :)

Yea, every time I see a friend trying to sell their PS2, as badly as I want to buy it, I strongly advise them against it. The regret you feel a few months later is akin to getting your balls chopped off.

I loved Dark Cloud 2.

I think the reason why I favor the PS2 over every other console is the era. That was the golden era for console gaming. Ideas were fresh, games felt new. Now, graphics are better, but all the games feel the same.

Still got my PSX - play FF7 the other day. Nothing comes close!

I had mixed feelings about the ps one. I found the graphics to be very ugly, the draw distance poor and the lack of z-buffer made the textures all wobbly. Apart from the final fantasies, I only bought what 2D games were available. Legend of Mana was truly epic. Overall, I played on my SNES more than than psx.
