If it came with 24-40GB of video RAM it would be a good way to run local LLMs.

It will likely not come with that much RAM as RAM is expensive.

That's why they locked this all-digital shift in early, I wouldn't be surprised if this digital shift allows them to subsidize it to keep it under $1000/R27k too.

Oh yeah I wasn’t saying that would be the price, I was more laughing at the notion of it having up to 40GB because there simply is no way.

The 40Gb (or even 48Gb) was from leaks for the Magnus chip for the next Xbox, the idea of that much memory would've been canned by Asha for a while already as it was prior to the Rampocalypse.

Sony is stuck with 24Gb or more. They can't really go lower on the PS6 as that would lower the memory interface too much.

As it stands the PS6 design is 32Gb at 160bit and lowering it to 24Gb drops it to 128bit apparently. Xbox is at 192bit for 24Gb so they can go down to 20Gb fairly easily.

I'm sure the price of the geystation 6 will be so high - Cheece and Chong won't even buy it.

Question is and always will be, are you going to spend R25K + on a console & R1500 on a digital game in the future ?

It is getting mental that is for sure. It won't be easy decision to make, so now more than ever deciding between an Xbox and PS will be even harder for some.

I’m definitely getting one, the Xbox has fallen off my radar with all the shenanigans and new structures going on.

It’s either the PS6 or Steam Machine.

Unless they bring out an upgrade of the current Steam machine, next gen consoles will beat the crap out of it.
