I can purchase games etc via my PS4 on the PSN network, but cannot do the same when I log in with my pc.

Anyone else experience this?

Last time I had an issue on PSN it was because I was trying to buy directly, instead of doing Add Funds to Wallet and then buying.

I thought when you buy something, it adds the funds to the wallet and then deducts from the wallet? That's how it's been for me anyway.

Eg. R100 in wallet, item costs R300: R200 is authorised against your card and added to your wallet. Item is then purchased. New wallet balance = R0...

Nah, doesn't work like that, you have to purchase another R200 to add to your wallet to get to the R300 to do the purchase.
So if the game is R389.
You basically have to have R400 to get the game.

It's really stupid.

I really wish XBOX Store could copy PS Store, however, certain aspects PS Store could copy from XBOX Store.

I'm not sure hey, it seems to work different for me. Whenever I bought something using a saved card, it calculated the difference between what the item is worth and what's in my wallet, and authorised my card only for that difference. The net result is the wallet ends up with a zero balance if the original balance is less than the item amount.

Basically it deducts from the wallet first, before any alternate payment method...

Never needed to do that.

I just click buy and it automatically funds the wallet from the card.

Sorting, filtering and searching is a huge part of an online games store. Being able to find stuff you want, and being able to discover stuff you may not necessarily know about, is very important. XBLive sucks at this.

Say you only have R300 to blast but don't necessarily know what you want unless you can filter, sort and browse - this works much better on PS than XB...

I find the Xbox store a convoluted mess. Just trying to find "search" every time is a pain.

PSN is nice and orderly.

Yeah I tend to agree.

I can't even find Xbox's own bloody specials on the console or website most of the time.

If it wasn't for other websites punting them I would know about most of the specials.

PSN it's pretty in your face and you get emails about them too.

PS4 inspires me to buy stuff.

Xbox just pisses me off and then I decide it's not worth it.

Even though the Xbox marketplace pricing is what ultimately convinced me to get one.

There is a setting on the playstation that pretty much tells the ps store to not automaticaly put funds in your wallet. If you wanted to disable automatic PS Plus renewals Sony told users to turn this function off which is most likely why you now also have to jump through hoops to buy games on the store.

Settings > Playstation Network/Account Management > Account Information > Wallet > Purchase Settings
Fund Wallet Automatically: Yes/No
