Hi Guys...

I have a PS4 and was wondering about the benefits of a PSN Plus account... i hear you can download games for free?

Is it worth while for me to get it... i have my PSN account created in the US(because i also wanted to use netflix and hulu)

i think the year subscription is about $80 which i dont mind paying so long as i can use the thing....

Go for it. You can play those free games as long as as your subscription is still in force plus you get discounts on other games. And afaik PS+ is required for online gaming on the PS4. Feel free to correct me.

You correct, you needs PS+ for online gaming.

It's definitely worth it for the free games:

BTW the subscription is much less, it's around R500 per year for a ZA account.

Haven't bought a game in ages. Just install games from ps+. Although I'm thinking of getting cod ghosts.

thanks... looks like i'll go for it..

Now heres the other thing... as i said, my PSN account is for US, because of the netflix and hulu streaming... would it be better to take the account on US or SA?

If i put my profile back to SA, will i lose the netflix and hulu apps?

also... whats the difference between "bundle, psn game and full game" options for purchasing?

A South African account is less painful when it comes to paying for stuff as you don't need vouchers.

Also if you buy any games in SA on retail discs you are going to have trouble getting DLC for those games as they generally are region-locked. So I would highly recommend using a "primary" South African account and a US one as secondary.

As in get PS+ on your SA account and just buy the odd really cheap stuff off your US account.

Amazon also sells digital games on the US shop which is often super cheap...again if you buy a US game you need to buy US DLC for it.

Also if you ever intend to get a PS Vita think ahead because it can only be linked to one account.

Price will stay the same, around R500. I don't think that it's possible to switch your region, unless you create a new account. If you have a US account then it should still be fine - just that prices and stuff will appear in $ in the PS store, and you will need to use vouchers to top up...

^^Actually forget what I said and do what he said...

Ask at BT games and they can sell you a voucher that is under R400 for a year.

Its definitely worth it.

Even if you don't have a Vita or PS4 you can get the free games for them and download them at a later stage.
You obviously have to keep the subscription. The catalogue you get is amazing though.

Correct you can't switch regions, you need another account.

However on the same PS4 (discounting a second console) the licensing structure means that you can use any content from one account on the others on the same console.

So yes Hulu & Netflix will work for the SA account as well. Just be sure both accounts are activated as "primary" on that console so that they share their licensing.

If you have to ask and do not read the Internet about the pro's then maybe you do not need it. ;)

Of course it's worth it. For the PS4 it's still new and of course the games are still relatively new but still you will never go back once you are used to it and even the good games start rolling in for free.

So i can create a new account, then link that to my ps4? whilst the US account is still linked to it, both as primary... do they allow that?

Or do i unlink the US account to my ps4(but keep it still as an active account with PSN), then create a new SA account and link that to the PS4 and everything should still work?

Yeah at R40 a month it's peanuts even for the one free game on PS4 right now.

If you have a Vita and PS3 as well it's really a no brainer to have it or not.

You can have as many accounts as you like as Primary on your PS4.

It's not so much about the console as it is about the account itself.

Any one account can be "primary" on any one console (which means every other account on that same console can access it's content) and then you can still sign in "online" on any other console at the same time to access all the content there as well, but only while you are connected to the internet.

When it comes to the PS3 they are even more lax with it as you can have your account on three consoles as I recall with full access to all of them as the primary system didn't exist then.

See the 4th option.

Technically you could share your "primary" license with a friend and you would both benefit from every purchase on both your consoles as long as you remain online to access the content.

Many people do this and call it "Game Sharing" in the PS3 days it was much simpler as every console was "primary" in essence so they changed it slightly with the PS4.

Way too much drama now.

FYI.

I have a South African, US and Japanese PSN account all linked as Primary on my PS4.
