Hi Guys,

After just getting WoW for one month - Expensive monthly fee, irritating repetetive low level quests, long wait before getting to level 70 e.t.c. i dont think its worth it - im over it.
Is Guild Wars a good option?

If So, Im really confused as to which of version of the game to buy - Nightfall, Factions, Eye of the North ? WTF someone please help me which one /ones should i buy so I can experience the game.

Thanks for your help.

Isn't there like a GW gold pack on Take2.co.za ?!?

Coems with like the game and 2 expansions or something - I was tempted to buy it, but I can't sit for 3/4 hours in 1 game so that's why I didn't buy it.

I'm guessing you don't want to pay a fortune

http://www.take2.co.za/product.php?id=2595175 <- Prophecy + Factions (R270) *1st Guild wars + Factions addon*
http://www.take2.co.za/product.php?id=2051890 <- Nightfall (R181)
http://www.take2.co.za/product.php?id=2595158 <- Eye of the North (R181)

There are 3 worlds that u can play in. Prophecy, Factions and Nightfall.
Eye of the north only expands the Prophecy world (so its much bigger if u got Eye of the north plus some other goodies)

If u gonna start out, u only need Prophecy + Eye of the North. So basically u have the 1st world. But massively big. U can play quite a while on that alone.

All in all it should not cost you more than R650 +- (from take 2) (then u got all 4)

I'm a GW player and started off with Nightfall, I personally think you must go for:
http://www.take2.co.za/product.php?id=2595175 <- Prophecy + Factions (R270) *1st Guild wars + Factions addon*

Factions Enables you to do GvG's (Guild vs Guild) and AB's(Alliance Battles) which is great once you done the campaign.
Hope you enjoy the world of Guild Wars :P

Guild Wars is completely different to WoW, check the other posts to see my reasoning. In a nutshell, Guild wars is designed round PVP, WoW is the opposite to that.

Prophecies = First and Longest story campaign, keep you entertained for weeks/months
Factions = PVP aimed chapter (Pick a faction and battle against the other side)
Nightfall = Introduction of heroes (your personal henchmen that you can skill/gear up etc)
EOTN = New areas, gear, skills, NPCs, Mobs, quests and Dungeons

I started with the Prophecies and Factions Pack. Its a very nice tutorial in Prophecies (Pre-Searing). If you want to get right into the game asap, get Nightfall ~ its got fast leveling starting areas. Eye of the North is (as stated above) the expansion to Prophecies. Without knowing the story of Prophecies, you wont understand the background.

Whats your IGN, ive got a few chars in Pre-searing that will be willing to help out :)

gw is like a proper rp dnd session (obviously if you have group or friend(s) to play with)
wow is like WTF ZOMG look at my leet gear (after gathering 10000 X)

I'd disagree with that. I think the vast majority of players are PVE players. I've been playing well over a year, and have never done PVP, and I'm not interested.

same here, GW compares allot more to a DnD PnP session that wow ever could - but ive done the wow thing tonight again must say the social aspect of it is also quite enjoyable.

My wife and I play GW; we do a lot of missions together, and it's great. We occasionally get other friends to play too - either over the net, or hooked up to our LAN at home - and we love that too. The cooperative aspects are great for some missions, and it's a lot of fun playing with different tactics.

I started with Nightfall. Haven't had any problems. I'm in a great Guild that is willing to help you with what ever your problem may be...

haven't played in a while thought. Internet issues plus i blew up my gfx card, so playing it with my oh so weak onboard gfx, makes it lag alot which isn't much fun.
I really miss playing its a great game.

GW2 is also in production i think, which is gonna have WoWs non Instaced world plus lots of other great things, and still will be free.

IGN is Dragonic W when ever i get back on give me a shout, also those who would like to be helped, I can ask my leader to let you join our guild, they'll help you out from the start. i for one still have lots to learn.

I also disagree, I think GW is a PvE game with PvP to carry you through untill the next content update. IMO as always
