Hi 1st off im new to this forum. . . So new in fact that this is my very 1st post so please be nice.

Ok im glad thats out of the way.

SO. . . I need help with some noob questions about my soon to be car sound system.

I already own:

Front loader:
Sony CDX-GT430U (2009 model)
http://www.sony.co.uk/product/ica-in-car-usb-and-made-for-ipod/cdx-gt430u

Front split:
FLI COMP 5
http://www.fliaudio.co.uk/integrator_comps.html

Rear speakers:
Some poop Kenwood 6x9 (no link needed cos i wanna chuck them anyway)

My situation:

I had a great sound system and it got stoled so I put in an alarm and now im going bigger and better. The only thing that never got stolen where my gay 6x9 kenwoods in the rear window. Im not sure if the thief thought they where also gay or if he just couldn’t get them out but I dont want them anymore.

I have read a couple posts but I need more advice from cool people like you guys :D

My Noob questions:

Im getting rid of my 6x9s in the rear window but I’m not sure what to replace them with. I have the problem of not being able to put speakers in the rear doors so I need to know what the best option would be for a nice solution at an OK ish price.

1. Wat is the best sound solution for replacing rear 6x9s that doesnt involve door stuff?

2. My frontloader has sub out and front rear switchable. . .thing for amps. It can either have front and rear connected though an amp or front and sub connected though an amp and rear through frontloader amp. I want a sub but Im not a bass head so i want good ear melting mids. What set up would rock the most?

3. Wat size and how many amplifiers would i need to blow heads off?

4. Is it good sound etiquette to use a split in the rear window to replace the 6x9 gayness?

5. What is a good 12"sub to replace my old one? I only ask because my old one rocked and I’m scared that I choose one that sucks toes.
Is http://www.autostyle.co.za/prodview...=sound&cid=subs&pg=1&showall=1&brandstr=&str= OK?

So I guess il come back later to thank you guys . . . . nyt peeps

If you want to get rid of your 6x9 why don't you get limpids, you will get decent bass as well as mid range..with limpids you mount it on your back board and it uses your boot as a box.. IMO its a better choice over a sub because you will have your boot..

A decent amp powerful enough would be a Starsound..

firstly welcome ot the forum... i have done my sound about 6 weeks ago... and since then i have become an expert:p

i would say get a decent 2600w 4ch amp(starsound digital)
a 12" DVC sub 1200w(e.g. sony, pioneer,) then get someone to run all these from your amp. the sub and the splits from the amp... i would leave the 6X9 because then you will have too much bass.

my sound is not the best but it sounds very lovely... you have bass if you want it and you have nice vocals coming through... ;)

Thanx!! I think im gonna go for a 4ch amp and get some better 6x9.

One more thing. . . what is a DVC sub? is that the brand?

DVC is Double Voice Coil.

See more here or on the rest of the web :)

Basically more punch.

Pioneer, and yes it does give that punch:D

K im gonna go for a pioneer with DVC :D

What car?

I Have a Mazda 323 from 1985 :D its old but it only had one previous owner and it came to me with only 52000km on the clock.

I have put sound dampening in the floor, boot and firewall. It made a world of difference to the sound quality.

Rear speakers are completely unneccessary if you want a good Sound Quality setup.

Some good splits up front and a sub is all you need. Either running off a single 4 or 3 channel amp, or have a 2-channel for the splits and a monoblock for the sub.

If you really want good advice I suggest you head over to the Speed and Sound forums. Especailly the SQ section: http://www.speedandsound.co.za/forum/viewforum.php?f=29

There are many similar queries than yours which you can read. If you still don't know you can post a thread and the guys over there will sort you out.

dude...that setup is just wrong....

keep 6x9"s tuned for mid to high frequencies....there is almost no bass coming out of my 6x9"s the way it is setup..

i'd suggest a 1200W amp, a 600W sub, and two 6x9"s or limpets as suggested.

Thats my plan :D

Im gonna get a 1200W amp and a +-600W RMS sub for it and tune the bass out on the 6x9"s
