Please help me decide on a new car!

Fully understand what you saying. But I'm not looking for a car with more than 15 000km mileage if I were to purchase pre-owned. I'm not hooked on driving a Merc or BMW at all. I would rather get a brand new car than one with 89 000km.

Before I settled on the Ballade, I was gonna get the Rio.

It's feature list is extensive. If I had to get a Hatch, that would probably it. The 1.4Tec of course.

Also take a look at the Fiesta. Maybe even Renault Megane. It's pretty.

Yeah totally understand. I bought a brand new BMW a couple of years back and had more issues with it than any pre-owned car I have ever owned. But it all comes down to what you want/need/are willing to spend in the end.
 
golf 6 1.4tsi highline... what do they go for these days?

You can grab the latest car mag, but I would go get Leisure Wheels instead. They have a 4x4 (bakkies, SUVs etc) price list + mini review near the back. Doubt you are gonna get a new 4x4 car fro that price.
 
You won't get a DECENT brand new (or < 15000KM used) car for R200k.

Not really considering in performance it's in the middle of the normal G6 GTI and the G6 R so price-wise it's also about in the middle.
