It has been two years and Telkom still haven't upgraded my area to ADSL, despite their promises. My version of Ubuntu (9.04) has become unusable because updates are no longer supported, and I cannot download a newer distributionn no ADSL, no 3G.

Can someone help me out with a LTS version like 10.04 (I don't want to reinstall every six months, just update wirelessly) ? It would be much appreciated.

Sorry I don't have, maby someone else will come along that can help out.

Other option is to check out linux magazines, sometimes you get places that sell old stock. Alternatively the CDs can be ordered online locally.

In your situation it would also be useful to get the repositories on DVD so you have access to all the software in the repos but without needing internet access.

I think you will maybe enjoy Linux Mint more, everything works out of the box so you don't need to download extra codec's ect.

Eish, can't believe not one single person is willing to burn you one...

PM me your details and I'll get a disk to you. Also, what version of the LTS are you looking for? 32 or 64 bit?

If I had a copy of the iso I would send it to him but the response to date has been pathetic. Good on you!

Thanks @MyWorld. I will PM you. 32bit anyway.

PS Linux is free to reproduce bitches. What's up with every site charging for it?

While you aren't allowed to charge for linux itself, you are allowed to charge for the media, and I guess data used to download it as well.....

Did you expect them to pay for the bandwidth, media, postage & time out of their own pockets? Perfectly legit to charge for for the associated costs in providing the cd/dvd.
