I am one of the lucky ones who just by chance happened on the story of the bad seagate drives, so I went on to their site (was just after they released the updates), read all the instructions, flashed my drive (was two months old at that time) and have had no problems ... touch wood !!
Big up to the MyBB forumns !!! (where I first picked up the story) Cause so far all I know is if your drive malfunctions and its one of the affeced drives in the list ... its dead - neva to work again !!!

WTF!!!!! You tried selling me this drive Yesterday! Eish, you just don't know who to trust anymore these days! I would've been out of R600!!!
