PLEASE HELP: XP Mode in Win7 won't let me access a folder

I installed a program in XP mode as it is not Win7 compatible, it created a data folder C:\data. The program ran fine for a while but then it crashed and I had to reinstall it. The uninstallation did not go smooth and left this data folder. Reinstallation will not proceed as it sees this folder. If I click on the folder in Windows Explorer I get a window stating that I do not have access to it.

Help me remove this folder please.

have you set the sharing properties appropriatley on the created folder's properties ? ........is the folder shared in its properties ????
