How do I stop using the bis apn? I'm trying to download v.141 firmware for the bb storm and I keep getting the download is too large screen. Vodacom states on their site that charges are zero rates when using a vodacom sim. Is this true.

Are you trying to download the .141 file onto your Storm? This won't work, you have to download to your PC, connect Storm to PC and install. Installing the file onto your PC using a Vodacom SIM is free.

you can use the phone for the download if it's not going to interfere or mess up the update procedure. Or use a different internet connection.

You can download the firmware on your phone (I've done it on my Bold), just switch your browser from Internet Browser to 'Vodafone/Vodacom' but remember you'll be charged standard data rates for doing this. You'll also be charged standard data rates for using your phone as a modem.

Quote from http://www.vodacom.co.za/services/blackberry/downloads_handheld.jsp "Note: All device downloads available on this page are zero-rated to Vodacom customers. There is no charge for your download from this page, when you connect to this site from a Vodacom SIM card."

I can confirm that you don't get charged for the download off the vodacom site when using a Vodacom sim. I gave up trying to download it from my phone. I kept getting the file is too large page even when changing to the Vodafone live browser. I used my phone as a modem and downloaded it onto my laptop and got charged for updates that windows was downloading in the background without me knowing.
