PLEASE NEOTEL...have mercy!

Its all well and good complaining and slagging off the rep, as far as I can see Neotel have been quite open about the problem experienced on the network - unlike some other networks.

They have also indicated that they are working on resolving the issue. What more do you want? Their blood? The reps blood?

I can understand your frustrations but have some patience! And yes I am a Neotel customer with Flex Data and I just finished watching True Blood in full HD streamed using the Neotel service and have downloaded it @ 1.2Mbps....

Woah! I know wireless has more latency than proper DSL but to have constantly +800 ms pings is simply unacceptable. The 1000 R antenna on the roof gives me nice 4 bars on the device's display but is not of much use when it comes to speeding things up a bit.
So far I'm not ready to give up on Neotel ... and they won't let me get off the hook anyway. But I'm pretty fed up with the connection speed. Fustrated and angry. Mostly angry with myself since it was me trying to be clever and getting rid of Telkom's rusty copper wires ... and the overprized bills ... and running out in the middle of the night to buy additional Access vouchers at the next gas station ... and sloppy helpline service ... and snotty clerks at the Telkom office ... and all the lies ... and the overall kiss my ass attitude of the higher ranking managers ...

As you are streaming HD on your neo I can imagine that you dont feel the way that we do as you are not giving away a grand to some stranger on the street because you are forced to by legal action. You can not even begin to understand the frustration we are experiencing as you havent had to go through all the trouble we have gone through. Ive spent a total of 5hours on the phone with neotel since the time i got neotel on the 5th of feb and untill this morning couldnt find any of the information stated on this blog from their consultants,technitions(2x of them at my house yesterday installing an antena which by the way isnt helping me at all) or on their website where i would expect to find out about it, instead i have to read it on a 3rd party blog no one knows about and i found by accident. I take my hat off for the rep helping all you guys out but why put him on a blog and not in a hall teaching the consultants & technitians what to tell us. But with all of the help the rep has given us I (and I speak for alot of ather) still do not know what the problem still is & when it WILL be resolved?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I was promised an excelent signal in Helios street Moreletapark PTA aswell & when got home......NOTHING....after nearly a month of strugling I got an external antenna yesterday (which I had to put up myself & have to go buy an extention cable at own cost cause their supplied cable was to short) which gave me four bars of signal from none(sometimes one) & an RSSI of 64 from 108 (today my RSSI jumped to 71) but despite all of this I still only get a LOCAL download speed of 23KB/s upload of 1KB/s if I am absolutely lucky & a ping of 980ms. I cant wait for my debit order to go through this month as I will be going directly to ABSA to reverse the transaction. PLEASE REP IF YOU COULD HELP ME OUT?????

lulz

It's fun being one of the fish in the South African internetz barrel!

Evidently we are getting some kind of uber super duper line in July... I can't wait.
