Neotel's service is very poor..A few of their customers have already terminated their services due to the instability of their network. The engineers dont know what they are doing. Both call centre agents and field technicians need a lot of training on their product..
Have had slow speeds for almost eternity now and have changed my device twice in a space of 2weeks. this is apalling...If they cant solve a problem they just recommend a device swap..They should have done a bit of research before implementing such a pathetic device.

They say their lines are not shaped but guess what this is totally untrue...How about p2p????????:cool:

My device was deliverd by Courier direct and now Courier direct has jumped ship. Dont want to be associated with Neotel anymore, my guess Neotel is not paying them well enuff and obviously they are very disorganised..

I wish i had stayed with my pathetic Iburst...

Too bad, but I have enough faith in fixed WiMax to use Neotel if they have similar (better, of course) prices and caps for the WiMax service.

You are wrong here from what I have seen p2p is not shaped the problem is that the Neotel handsets cannot do port forwarding. This has nothing to do with shaping at all

Why would you need port forwarding on a USB device?

You won't, but you will need it for decent p2p connections. See the catch :)

The first post mentioned that p2p is shaped. It is not shaped it is not getting decent speeds because there is no port forwarding.
 
Not true. You only need to forward ports when you are using a router, because the router needs to know where to forward the packets to. If the 'modem' is connected via USB, then there is no doubt where the packets are going.

Lolwut? You cannot even ping your ip with Neotel let alone establish a remote connection. This means no hosting games, no remote desktop, no WAN, no inbound torrent peers and no love.The port forwarding that takes place on a router or modem has zip to do with USB or ethernet interfaces and everything to do with NAT. Packets on Neotel don't 'know' where to go when inbound because they are blocked before they get to the phone.
 
mkay, people, please.... STAY AWAY FROM WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY

I don't know how many times you guys will be sold WIRELESS (WORTHLESS) technology.

Wait till Neotel enters the bandwidth market like SAIX or something. Get yourself a Telkom ADSL line and just use Neotel bandwidth till they provide ADSL services as well.

If you're actually looking to use the internet for OTHER than web surfing, DONT TOUCH BLERRIE WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY!!!

We are really concerned about your experience with our contact centre and have asked the customer services team to investigate so we can have an understanding on what has happened.
Please could you get in touch with me so that I can find out more details from you and so we can set up some time with you at your convinience meet with the consumer services management to sort this out.
This sort of experience is definately not part of our usual practice and although we are still starting out with consumers we are have been trying to ensure that you as our customer has a good experience at all time.
