Please stop stealing our money, Afrihost

The question is more - why did it suddenly happen - exactly one day after the switch from Telkom.
Does this mean I have to deal with Telkom again - this is kind of the only reason people switch to Afrihost managing the line?

In Goedemoed and I'm currently experiencing heavy congestion on a DSLAM.

Funny thing is Afrihost also manages my line. But im more sure its the DSLAM than Afrihost.

No irony :p Telkom actually admitted to the congestion/faulty hardware, after 16 months, and are moving me over the MSAN in the new month.

The irony being your nick ending in "Crooks" and posting in a thread about AH stealing people's money :)

Hi.

You know I am getting g@tvol of the excuses lately. Telkom was at my house for the 3rd time today testing everything from the exchange to my modem and they say my line is perfect. They even replaced the wall boxes and filters. I switch out the modem and internal lines. I get a solid 10mb/s sync with the exchange now. Well I always did until this last week. They downgraded me from 10 - 8 - 6 - 4 to see if my line would get more stable, but did nothing... Even tonight my speeds are pathetic at 2, 4mb/s with latency's in the range of 300ms - 854ms syncing at 10mb/s.

Then I went and get myself one of those free WebAfrica 1mb ADSL deals to see if it makes a difference. From the moment I ran the Webafrica account my line speeds was fast, no latency issues and I can download at full line speed! It was a joy to use the internet. W.T.H. Afrihost !?

This has been like this now for 2 months now that I have this problem and overtime I get a load of test from Afrihost to perform and still my problem is not solved. Why must I do all their work / testing? Why must I pay R1000 (data) for 10mb/s "Business uncapped account" that gives me slow and pathetic speeds ? The line is with telkom.

I know this is not real world tests, but dam you can notice the difference its day and night when I tested with my free Webafrica account.
