Plugg Uncapped ADSL Feedback

I want to use the account during the day at our small business where we use 1-2GB and then not have to worry at home where I'm using 50-100GB a month.

Unfortunately, as I've pointed out, one of the sessions will always be short of b/w

Not sure the janitors answer makes sense ... just make sure to limit your home downloads to say half account speed during the day. I'm very happy with this account.
 
Quick question

I read the T&C's but couldn't find anything. Does Plugg charge you pro rata or not?

It is pro rata; you can cancel at any time online by logging in to the PLuGG website, cancellation will be effective at the end of the month.

If you buy (for example) uncapped 4096 which allows you two concurrent sessions, you can not expect both sessions to run at 4096 at the same time. The two sessions will contend for the bandwidth.

Oh. Well I got charged full price when I got the account at 9PM on the last day of the month. Used a total of 4.07 GB.

I got a test account during December and was very happy with the service / speed I got.

Me and my dad has been sharing a Plugg 4mb uncapped account since mid December.... so far I am happiness with the account.
Everything works like it should, online gaming is a jol and dl's are good.
Heck at one stage in December, for about a week, my Steam updates/downloads were constantly running at 800kb/s.
 
Im on day 3 of the trial account, steam kills it at 700kBps, speedtest.net is up there as well, but browsing and youtube seem to be slower then my Mweb 2mb. :erm:

Haven't noticed any dip in performance so far.
Me and my dad actually did a test with this, we started downloading at the same time, no reduction in speed whatsoever.
So far it's been a absolute joy to use.
 
Shaping has really deteriorated over the last month for me, not close to the experience I've received since I started in May last year.

Previously I would get full line speeds with mostly everything, so paying for a 4mb account but receiving 6-10mb speeds. That's since stopped, and I can't really complain since I'm paying for 4mb.

But now I'm often just getting 1-2mb speeds, nntp, youtube, browsing..

I pull down on average 50-100gb a month, would this place me in the 'throttled 20% of IS users'?

Emailed Plugg support and the response was:
The signal on your ADSL line is very bad, and is one of the reason to why you experiencing slow download speeds,
Please contact Telkom on 10210 and have a agent reset your ADSL line.

I'm synching at 10mb with no disconnects - tested with an mweb account I have and get perfect speeds.

If this continues I'll likely be cancelling end of this month.
 
Does Plugg also require the "full calendar month" cancellation period?

Also using the concurrent connections. Haven't noticed any problems. On the shared connection the speeds are still far higher than the Afrihost account we had (until late last year after the move to MTN).

My speed is terrible tonight? Anyone else?

Mine is USELESS too. Was at 1.5 - 2.2Mbps for a 4Mbps line.

Mailed Janitor and another dude I always mail who had helped me with getting the account working.

Then Tshepo responds, says he reset the line and I reset the router, testing again. Went up from 1.5 to 2.2 then.

He says he will follow up. Nothing this morning. So I mail them again, looking to see what has happened to the supposed follow-up. No response.

Looking at another ISP's trial account.

Sad thing is, it was quite good the first month - 3.3Mbps constantly. Terribly disappointed this month though, my second month. and it's the second time this month I have had this kind of issue.
