Plugg Uncapped ADSL Feedback

I'm still happy with PLugg too. Everthing is flying. Nntp, torrents, http , gaming (local)...
 
Does Plugg offer any test accounts? Im a free agent come 1 March and I wanna test out as many ISP's as posible before settling.
 
Just thought I'd give my feedback here on using a trial account for the last 7 days. Must say I'm thoroughly impressed. I've done regular testing to compare it with my other accounts from Telkom, Mweb and Afrihost, and the IS Plugg account regularly outperforms them (including my supposedly "unshaped" Afrihost account), or at least performs within an acceptable range, making it on average the best of the lot.

Will definitely be signing up on 1 March once I've closed all my other ISP accounts.
 
just a question. if im doing nntp stuff on the one connection. will the other concurrent connection be automatically used for gaming, etc.?
 
Anyone else speeds crawling since yesterday? I see the Telkom uncapped guys also having issues.

I must say this is my first issue since signing up from late last year.
 
Same here! I sent tickets and emails but both have not been replied to.

I use it from two locations, so that's two connections.

If you have your router dialing up the ISP then that is one connection no matter if you are downloading with multiple apps or devices or gaming. If you do a PPPoE dial up from the same location then that is two connections.
 
Moved over from Afrihost uncapped at the beginning of the month. Im thoroughly impressed, the Plugg account is leaps and bounds ahead of Afrihost.
 
Hi Guys

I’m considering moving to Plugg and i’m currently trialing a Plugg uncapped account (1mb)
Almost everything is fine except when I play games online (black ops on the PS3)

It is shockingly bad. :sick: game play stutters and freezes every now and then. The lag makes me grind my teeth and swear like a sailor at times !

Has anyone on Plugg got issues playing online ? On my Afrihost uncapped I don’t have any issues playing online (although everything else with them is sucking of late)

Playing Dota 2 on EU servers are fine for me
 
Hi Guys,

I'm testing Plugg on a 2MB account, I just wanna know whats the max download speed that you guys are getting? I seem to hit a peak of 200kbps (HTTP and P2P downloads), when I tested an Openweb 2MB account I was hitting 230kbps constantly.

Overall browsing and Youtube are running awesomely!

Appreciate any feedback.
 
Getting really bad international this morning on Plugg on my 4MB uncapped. did a speedtest now: 0.16mps download and 0.81mps upload. My upload is 5 times faster than my download! woohoo! I know they usually throttle news servers during the day but geez I can't even browse international sites!

I can confirm that there are no network issues currently. Right now at home, doing a speedtest - http://www.speedtest.net/result/2503092732.png. We did have a problem with the NNTP server over the weekend, but it's been resolved.

Could you log this with [email protected] so that they can have a look.

Is Plugg looking at reducing it's pricing after Telkom has reduced it's uncapped rates?

Can you please check that the live streams work at twit.tv. Click "LIVE STREAM" on the right (bitgravity, ustream & justin.tv). It wouldn't work last night though their pre-recorded shows were fine.
 
I am also having issues of lag and high pings on games on my plugg uncapped account but I switched over to my afrihost account and also still got the issues so I think the problem is to do with crappy Telkom and infrastructure.

They should change the marketing name plan of Convergence to Congestion!!!
