Hi

Does anyone here use PLuGG ADSL? They are selling the 384kbps service for R99.
how would their product compare to mweb's in terms of performance?

For R99 I can guarantee you it won't get close to Mweb's accounts. Might be fine for browsing, but more or less zero downloading.

looks like the same as a afrihost or mweb product to be honest, maybe it's just a good price. waiting on someone who's used it to share their views

Not close to mweb. Had such an account from a small ISP when I first got ADSL. It's terrible, you can barely do anything more than browsing.

You get what you pay for.

I have the 4MB uncapped account and it is much better than when I was with MWEB - I get my full speed 24/7 and it allows for 2 concurrent connections.

Very Very happy with it

But this is for 4MB Uncapped so not too sure about the ''R99 Service''

These small isp starts out great and everyone talks about it. And the more people join the worse the service gets. Take Wazzup as example. Was awesome in the start and turned to crap after more people joined.

My line is still with them and i am not looking forward to the chore and costs moving it. Save yourself the trouble

Stay with the big guys they know what they are doing.

Plugg might be mostly unknown but they're part of IS which makes Mweb look small when it comes to the ISP game.

I see they allow 2 concurrent connections. Will this allow two connections to run at full speed?

I've got the 384k plugg service. My current download is in the range of 290 to 300kbps, which I think is excellent for a 384k line. Service seems pretty consistent too throughout the day.

You probably don't have a 384 line, only a 384 account on a 4/10meg line. Those speeds are physically impossible on a 384 line.

I think you are confusing 300kbps with 300KB/s

300kbps is very possible on a 384k line I think. That is like full speed.

I know that 4mb line go max 3500kbps

Did the speedtest on myBB site (384k line with Plugg). Here are the results:
