PnP selling citrus specifically for gin

The craft gin is really good. I have 3 flavours here, given some Amber Gin for Christmas. Gordons and Gilbeys taste much the same

What alarmed me is the amount of sugar in tonic water. A 330ml portion of tonic has more dissolved sugar than Coca-Cola and even slightly more than Fanta Grape, which used to be the most sugary drink sold
 
I find it so weird that people could vehemently not like gin as this thread suggests.

I can only think they are somehow doing it wrong or trying to drink it neat or something because it's the easiest drink out there in my view in all it's various forms.

I like drinking sweet stuff. Don't like bitter/sour stuff at all. So that's probably why I don't like gin

But you can have it sweet with a variety of mixes.

Something to try is making a watermelon slushy thing.

There are a variety of sweet options like that, look for anything with julep in the name.
 
Also not a fan of overly bitter drinks. Can you guys recommend a sweet or good tasting Gin? Also favourite mixes?
 
My wife likes gin. Puts strawberries, blue berries and who knows what in it *blech

The only way I manage to enjoy gin is mixing it with dry lemon. But even then...
 
Gin isn't bitter...

Tonic and lemon are bitter. In fact the G was added to the T originally in order to reduce the tonics bitterness when being used as an anti-malerial.

Gin is just clear spirit with added botanicals, can be made to taste like pretty much anything.

If you want a sweeter gin drink use sweeter mix.
 
There is a litchi gin, I'm unsure of the name, something like bossieveld or something. Try that with Franklin's craft tonic. That's what made me want to drink gin.

Avoid this tonic, I bought it last week. Tastes horrible.

I'm a beer and whiskey person but lately enjoying the gin as well.
The Inverroche range is quite nice.
 
If you can't handle the taste of the alcohol, put less in the mix and use more tonic. Adding citrus reduces the alcohol sharpness a lot. But you need to be the type of person that likes sharper, sour tastes to enjoy gin mixes. There are sweet tonics, but then you will just be getting fat quickly.

Some Tanq with a rose and cucumber tonic is heaven on a hot day. Pity it's ****ing bright pink, so I need to pretend it's my wife's drink at the hotel pool. :ROFL:
