View this podcast by Professor Dimitar Sasselov on how hundreds of earthlike planets were found and how earth is insignificant in terms of size to space in the universe, but very significant in terms of time.

The professor said a few things that has got my imagination running unchecked on various issues, firstly I'm puzzled about the 'in time' significance of earth and also being able to extrapolate from these facts the obvious conclusion that extraterrestrials must exist, and that it is now only a matter of
time (TIME - that elusive concept to understand), before we meet them.
