Anyone know of a Poe blocker
I am plugging one of my units into a POE switch i would like to block the PoE power

Yes, plug it into a switch that doesn't deliver PoE? Go into the management interface and disable PoE on said port if its a managed switch?

I wouldnt be asking the question if any of this was possible. Obviously thats the most simplest and straight forward solution . But i cannot do that thats why i am asking

Can't you just use a POE splitter. Like this

I've installed a dstv ip server for a lot of decoders.
The decoders all work fine.
But in the space of 6 months I've had to change the IP server.
Now the 2nd one has gone faulty. Can't pick it up on the network.
And i cannot figure out why.
Site is not managed by me, infrastructure was put in place.
I'm sure the PoE switch has auto sensing. I've got decoders etc all plugged in and they are fine.
I have no idea why the IP server stops working.
So I'm thinking of blocking the PoE.

Damn..well..Even after explaining you make no sense
What would PoE do or not do here?

Also sounds illegal

Well obviously you don't know, So why not leave it to someone who actually knows.

Simple Question.
Block the PoE power that's it.

And you couldn't find an answer on Google #Shudder

Well to answer your question i did. and everything i found was international . And i am looking for something i could buy off the shelf instead of chopping .
I came here thinking i would find Grown UPs who can help and assist other community members with questions but instead.... ...........

You can make your own fly leads if you have a crimper, simply don't connect wire 7 and 8 on both sides which is used for POE.

You could test with another small switch in between the ip server and the poe switch

Actually, your posts lack sufficient information you dumb****,so maybe try elucidate a bit properly and explain what PoE relation has to your hardware and why disabling it would help, and what variant you are using before you burn your building down

Your devices might be using custom voltages(TP link pumps 19v) or 48-52v,or either of the 2 methods of passive poe wiring with 12/24v,or active poe af/at being negotiated or a variant thereof that might need a twisted rather than straight through cable to trick the power sensing. Cisco also had a proprietary Active PoE standard before af/at was standardized.

Leave it to someone who knows, what a dolt if you had manners maybe you'd have gotten a better answer

But sure, blow your devices up or not fixing an actual issue by being a smartass
