bwana: there's very little point in trying to argue here. trolling is an art in angelo's young hands.
 
I think the point that Angelo was trying to make, is that delays in construction, etc. is not only endemic to Africa, we will be ready for 2010. we've hosted these kind of events before, we'll do it again

May be true but the difference in South Africa is that you can't really do this in ANY area. At least any area that isn't gated/protected by private security. That's what people that post these sort of comments don't seem to grasp, sure every country in the world has some dangerous areas, but when this state eventually applies to practically the whole country as it does in SA you have to recognise the difference. And yes when I'm overseas I do feel 1000 times safer than when I'm in SA, and you can't tell me I'm being irrational either. People need to stop apologising for the crime in this country and by association almost making it acceptable. We have to take it seriously and show the government that if they don't get it under control there's going to be a continuing mass emigration of skilled professionals, who they need the most whether they like to admit it or not. Whether the government will actually care and do something about it is another story but lets at least make it undeniably obvious that we're living in a war zone, and its not in some sort of gangland ghetto as it may be in Manchester but in the poshest suburbs in all major cities. Not that its more acceptable in inner city ghettoes, but lets stop the false comparisons. If you want to compare crime rates don't compare the Bronx to Constantia or Sandton, compare it to Hillbrow. Then tell me the crime's not that bad here.

Very carefully, with car doors locked and very vigilant and burglar alarm on at house. Lately, it is such a shlep that I rather stay at home.
 
And this is not a white thing, EVERYBODY IS SCARED GOING OUT AT NIGHT

Still dodging the question I see - did you write the initial post or do you just want people to think you did?

Why dont you just go back, edit the post, wrap some quote tags around it and attribute it to the author?
 
So I didn't put the name of the author in the article, big deal, like it's the first time it happens on the forum.
 
Not just attributing it to the author - you passed it off as your own plain and simple - sucks for you that Zenabi picked up on it.
