Pointless car mods

Um, when it comes to Raptors, even buying one new seems to suggest something about the owner (backyard dog fighter perhaps?) but then again, live and let live...

How to make your Ford F-150 look like a Raptor
Yip, and it is not just in SA. Even overseas (Aus particularly), Fords (especially rangers) have a reputation as Bogan Transports.

I wonder what it is about Fords that attracts people like that? Or do the vehicles change the drivers?

Thank you, learnt a new word today. SA has no shortage of them.

Where else must I find blind spot mirrors? Seems rare as hens teeth these days.

Back on topic:
There are some lowered cars here where I work, also have to do the angled crawl over speed bumps. The BMWs also slow down a lot for the speed bumps. seems my Figo handles speedbumps much better than their fancy cars.

The question is rather why do you need blind spot mirrors?

Simply turn your head. It will always be better and therefore safer.

giant wings on anything front wheel drive

Downforce have little to do with traction, its mostly about just that, downforce, increasing cornering ability and mid corner balance, hopefully without too much drag.

Look below, a FWD car with a rear wing...

As I got older, I liked car mods less and less. The car manufacturers spend millions on development so that wheel sizes, aerodynamics, etc, are perfect for the car before it goes on sale. And then some laaitjie reckons he suddenly knows more about cars than Japanese engineers and slaps a wing on his Honda, causing even more drag with no additional down force for when V-Tec kicks in.

Iv' found that manufacturer's have actually taken note, and the higher end options in a specific range has a good stance, appropriate wheel sizes, diffusers and bumpers to match, so much so i rarely think "that car could do with a"...

Indeed. The performance models have all the necessary bells and whistles already out of the bag.

That's a quattro, and a DTM car. The spoiler actually has a purpose.

crap, posted the wrong car. can probably post most super touring cars of the 90's here....

anyhow, was just internet arguing. wings arent exclusively for RWD or a specific drive.

Yeah. Until the manufacturers offer a "sports package" at a huge price to upgrade their cars. Mine included.
