Niantic has been shutting down apps/maps that show live pokémon locations.

caught so many of these already.. they don't evolve into a particularly strong pokemon sadly.

While the change sucks in terms of knocking off pokevision etc.. I also do like that it stops a lot of hackers as now thye can't just search for a pokemon and go forth and catch it

Didn't stop it unfortunately, there are a ton more sites like that and even desktop apps to do it for yourself.

Evolved a Sandshrew into a Sandslash this last weekend - quite the powerful little bugger.

I missed one spawning near me the other day and Cubone is one of the ones I like the most so it was really cool.
Better than the 279 Scyther I hatched the other day

This change in difficulty catching Pokémon is going to frustrate me. It seems like it has some RNG built in now. Got a CP129 Bulbasaur this morning. Fed it 3 berries and got it in the bigger pokeballs on 5 occasions. It escaped all 5 times and ran away. 10 mins later got a 357CP Bulbasaur and got it with a normal pokeball after it escaped once using only one berry.

Feels too random.

Yeah - I'm noticing the same.

I hate the dodgy GPS - every single time I go battle the local gym near work it decides to throw me just far enough away from my actual position to kick me out of the fight :(

As many of you know, we recently made some changes to Pokémon GO.

- We have removed the ‘3-step’ display in order to improve upon the underlying design. The original feature, although enjoyed by many, was also confusing and did not meet our underlying product goals. We will keep you posted as we strive to improve this feature.

- We have limited access by third-party services which were interfering with our ability to maintain quality of service for our users and to bring Pokémon GO to users around the world. The large number of users has made the roll-out of Pokémon GO around the world an... interesting… challenge. And we aren’t done yet! Yes, Brazil, we want to bring the game to you (and many other countries where it is not yet available).

We have read your posts and emails and we hear the frustration from folks in places where we haven’t launched yet, and from those of you who miss these features. We want you to know that we have been working crazy hours to keep the game running as we continue to launch globally. If you haven’t heard us Tweeting much it’s because we’ve been heads down working on the game. But we’ll do our best going forward to keep you posted on what’s going on.

Be safe, be nice to your fellow trainers, and keep on exploring.

From Niantic

Or they have been sitting back and relaxing, only making changes here and there, maybe tinkering on something there and then releasing the game in Brasil just as the 2016 Olympics start and there we go servers overloaded again and Niantic is making money again despite the removed features and angry users in the rest of the world.

Sounds like the perfect way to get tons of new players and making some more money from in-app purchases at the same time right?

/heads over to reddit to witness some more raging.

I agree with them, the horrible catch rate after the update makes me not want to play anymore.

Recently for me a bunch of rare Pokemon, or at least ones I haven't seen in the wild, have popped up in the nearby tab which I can't really find due to no tracking and when I do finally find one I can't catch it despite berries and excellent throws.

They should just add the distance from the beta back.
