Pokemon Go!

Pokemon go makes me sad

Finally hit level 6 this morning.
then caught 4 more new pokemon.

Have 13 balls left, no pokestops anywhere I can get to (without really going out of my way) and the only gym near to us has a very evolved owner at the moment.

So yea, will not get far with this game.
Your average to low CP pokemon can takedown a high CP gym easily. Might not be able to hold it but taking it is easy. You use 6 pokemon to battle and can heal as much as you want. You can also get others to help you fight the gym at the same time as you making it even easier. The idea is to get lots of low level players to compete against one or two high level players, the sense of victory and teamwork is the reward.

Yea but it's me and wife. Only reason I go near that gym is kids school is close by...

Anyway, I'll just keep on carrying on :)

I found a glitch!!!!!!! :wtf:

When I turn on my location on High Accuracy on my android and go into the app it first gets the estimated location and then when my GPS location is set my avatar walks or runs to wherever I really am and then adds to the distance walked for your eggs that are in the incubators.

I found this out because I incubated an egg when I got to work and I haven't walked around at all (I only opened the game a few times to see if there was a pokemon around), yet it says I walked almost a kilometer for that egg.

You're not doing such a great job at keeping it either...

when the rest of the people get here it wont be so easy to hold. I mean the last time we had it since Friday and everyone is now much stronger, I mean I only put in a 500CP pokemon to hold it down.

right now I have 6 gyms. its been a good morning.

there have been a few of us that posted about using the bad GPS reception in the office to "walk" your egg...

Team Mystic!!

Ok please help with the following questions I have on the game:
1. Why do all the pokemons have different weights? Are there any benefit to bigger pokemons?
2. If a pokemon is two types, eg grass/poison. Do they then have the vulnerabilities of both?
3. Is there any reason to hold on to pokemon as opposed to selling them to the prof? I heard rumours that a trade option will be included in the future to trade with other players? Your thoughts on this?

1. It depends.. It's basically like any other mud/reg type game and this allows some variation with player creatures. So XL could add some dex with some hp loss or size loss (check ground based attacks) similarly with XS making some more nimble. So a bug with XL might be better vs other types of not due to hp by due to size.

2. The link I posted early has combo tables

3. Trading likely coming in and P2P which where in a variety of types help knowing what's vulnerable to what. This will become important as the general player avg is >lvl15

Holding gyms is nice and all, I find it more important though to just have a lot of pokémon placed just before you claim. Think max is 10 to get 100 coins and 5000 dust

Water Pokemon are OP

Turns out speed is not weighted correctly, as a result Electric Pokemon (that focus on high speed) are far weaker than a Water Pokemon, despite having a 2x multiplier vs Water types

I for one, welcome our new Vaporeon overlords
