Pokemon Go!

Granted I skimmed through but I don't see anything specially disallowing use of the app in regions where it isn't officially launched.

And at no point did I lie to Niantic about where I live or where I play the game.

I'm sure if they really didn't want people playing the game outside of the official regions there wouldn't be any spawn points, stops or gyms active anywhere other than where the game had officially been launched.

Yep, and what if you happen to travel to South Africa for vacation, should you be banned then?

Thing is, their launch probably went as planned: have the server capacity for the regions included in the launch, then increase capacity as new regions are added. Problem was that no-one wanted to wait and downloaded the app illegally (not from Play/Apple store = illegal, as installing an .apk means the original software had to be modified without the owner's consent to work). And we all know how this ****ed up everyone's experience at the start. Was it "cheating"? Don't think so. But other people did screw with others' enjoyment of the game. Only drawback to playing in an unsupported region is that you don't really have any right to complain (yet) if things aren't going how you'd expect them to.

While GPS spoofing, etc, may beneficial to immobile people, the majority of cheaters aren't disabled in any way - there in lies the problem. But it happens with every game nowadays.

How do you figure that?

It's a trivial task to extract the APK from an installed app and doesn't require modifying the app in any way.

Should have said "distribute". App doesn't belong to you, so what gives you the right to distribute it? Piracy, right?

The app's free.

If it was a paid for app then sure it'd be piracy - but a freely available app - not so much.

And also Niantic are more than happy to accept money from people playing in regions where the game hasn't offically been launched...

to the person who was asking whether power up your Pokemon first, or just evolve it...

Playing on a non-jailbroke phone .. so nope, its from the Apple Store

I am waiting for it to come out on the App Store. Could someone please compile a high-level list for beginners to progress properly? 90% of the games I start early, I upgrade or build incorrectly only to suffer later on in the game. Also, I am not a pay to win player...

Google is your friend.

I'm sure you'll find guides aplenty on the intertrons.
