With a official release there should at least be a another upswing in players and that might make me excited again, just something new.
also more nests. and possibly a region exclusive pokemon...

So the new version doesn't show your IV, but the appraiser tells you how "big" it is. Do I have this right?

It is actually quite funny, the "spoofers" (i.e. run a simple Xcode app on your iPhone which allows to overwrite the devices GPS location) are not getting banned as Niantic is not able to figure this out as all other device sensor information is still consistently being sent.
The spoofing continues to work and there is zero way for Niantic to stop this as long as users do not switch locations too quick or use location specific IPs (VPN to the rescue) to be where they want to be. Someone who really wants to cheat will be able to do this without much effort (if you search Github you will actually find some projects which provide full keyboard/gamecontroller support for this - hahaha).
In your case you probably fell into a false-positive/collateral category and got banned. I have yet to see real proof that anyone has received an email about the ban nor have I seen anyone's appeal of a ban being accepted. I only came across one mention on Discord where a user from a non-launch country was banned and he kept logging tickets and sending emails until someone replied that they will not support him while the country is not rolled out yet.
I think it will be extremely funny if current non-launch users are wiped/banned as well. It does not seem that Niantic has the capability to really get boters under control and ban the wrong people in the first place.

This looks great..finally i won't need to check outside of the game and guess it via pokeassistant. Shem.. the game made it suck for thos who never worried about IVs till now

This "other device sensor information" being used to detect bots and spoofers sounds like a myth to me. There's no way Niantic is going to ban someone because their phone doesn't tilt or vibrate or randomly bounce around due to wonky GPS...
I reckon the only spoofing mechanism they'll likely employ is detecting teleportation like they do and maybe walking dead straight for 100km hatching eggs on the way... Maybe a bit of location IP's to stop people spoofing across different countries(which will be very welcome in my book)
It is nice to actually get support from you guys understanding my situation, I really just helped my kids what to transfer and bought them some poké balls using my phone, although I now know it was against the TOC, it was still an honest mistake and no cheating were involved.
Maybe I will cool down in a couple of days, but don't think I will play anymore and this is a huge disappointment to my 10 year old son, we really had some great times playing and staying away for hours, that normally had my wife fuming
