They are pretty rare, so either an event, a raid or when trading comes out (I have to get rid of some at some point). Where in JHB are you?

I only got my Snorlax by doing a raid. Didn't even hatch one during the equinox event. I was sick most of the time so wasn't able to get my morning km in. N't sure if Snorlax is a raid boss anymore. Haven't seen it around lately

The poke gods must be reading this thread, i hatched a snorlax this morning :D
over the moon!

I have a similar story, i just wanted a ok-ish iv snorlax, one worthy of powering up. I simply could not find one, until they day we walked to a snorlax raid and on the way I hatched one...go figure.

getting really tired of these constant network errors, its ruining the game for me.
took me almost 10 minutes to get into a gym to spin for my free raid pass :(

then most of the time when i go into a gym to leave a pokemon or spin the game freezes
and i end up driving away not getting anything.

go plus is really the only reason why i get spins else i wouldnt get any if i had to do it manually in the game.

Just a question, have you tried a different inet service provider yet or even a different device?
The reason why I'm asking is because I had a S4 and was starting to hate the game, as the app started crashing about 15 to 30 times a day in normal play and gyms constantly error-ed out as well. Received a new device and everything is working hundreds. I must add that there was one or two bug fix patches, that probably helped also, but i think my issues were mostly device related.
Don't go buy a new device though, just borrow one.
But I must add, that the reception at certain gyms are just shoddy, resulting in lots of errors...but also the best gym defender ;)

there are a few places where I can almost not play at all becaue of MTN.
and it seems its only because I do not have LTE enabled sim, so you see full bars of H+ but you cant even open twitter.
Brooklyn is quite bad for me, to a point where I have considered getting a new sim and enabling LTE on it. and now that the random charges have been removed I am leaning towards doing this.

i just upgraded about 2 months ago, i'm on MTN so maybe thats part of the problem
just got a notification for the pokemon go update so i'll update the app now and see if that makes a difference.

edit: i also dont have a LTE enabled sim but my device does have dual sim so maybe i should put in another sim just for data

I just read your posts. Thought maybe I'd clear my cache and data, then saw there's an update. So I did all three. Logged in. Defeated a lvl2 raid boss (electabuzz)... Aaaaaand got error 2. So much for that.

0.77.1 is an insane update.
curveball bug fix.
fewer errors when out.

that being said, I think your problems are related to mtn.

try getting one of those network monitor apps, that shows up and down speed in real time.
that will help show you where the network is the problem and where the app is the problem.

I think the one I used was called network monitor mini.

error 2 is a network error.

try a different mobile network on a prepaid sim card.

or if possible, ask someone on a different network to make a hotspot to test if that is the problem.

also, as weird as this is, make sure your time is set to automatic, or better yet get a time syncing app.
I have seen a few cases where a phone being out of sync results in a network error, because you are sending packets with timestamps that are too old/in the future, so the response from the server gives the network error code (as a dev, because this means, your phone disconnected from the network, hence the delay in time)

I have a cell c sim in my phone, a telkom sim in my Mifi device and a Vodacom sim in my tablet for WiFi hot-spots- if it's network related it's not on my side. Time and date is set to auto as well.

sometimes auto, set by the network gets out of sync and never re checks unless you restart your phone.
