Police Clearance Certificate

Hello,
I've applied for a police clearance certificate. How long does it take to be delivered to the police station?

Apparently my application was finalized on 31/12/2018.
 
If you’re in JHB/Pretoria you can do it yourself. Do the fingerprinting and payment at your local police station then drive it through to the Criminal Record Centre in Pretoria. They are open 7 days a week and are very quiet on a Sunday. Friendly and efficient too.
All that an expediting service will do for you is the driving and so unless you are losing a day of income, R3500 is heavy.

For us down here in CT it is a different story... we have to wait for some clerk to get off their arse and do something.

I am also waiting for an un-abridged birth certificate for my son. Someone has to go and dig this out of archives in Pretoria.

I only have 6 - 7 months before this needs to be done and dusted.

I was about to pay someone to do it, but thinking to try this myself.

So if you don't mind, can I ask some questions about process to be 100% sure.:-
1. I go to closest station and do fingerprint, etc. I need to fill out this form here: https://www.saps.gov.za/services/applying_clearence_certificate.php (https://www.saps.gov.za/services/application_form_2019.pdf)

2. Go the CRC in PTA (I am thinking next Sunday) and pay them in case or something (looks like R59 is the cost) Sauce: https://www.saps.gov.za/services/flash/firearms/downloads/appl_pcc_edited.pdf

3. I then either wait on the day to get it or will I get it 7-14 days later?

If you are still in South Africa, R3500 is expensive. If you are abroad and need one I guess that what you should expect to pay for an agent.

Lil Update on the pricing for PCC from CPT. Couriers suggests timelines of 4-6 weeks

Local Postnet R450 x2 deliver and collect
Postex R600 x2 deliver and collect Door to Door

Afiswitch has branches in every major city now. They do it for R380 - 24 hours wait. You go to their office, scan fingers, fill in a few forms and go in 2 days to collect. Valid for employment and security checks etc.

Really?

Just collected mines yesterday using the police process and from PTA, took 6 weeks like they said it would. Got my UK certificate in two weeks.

Now I realised for a visa application they want my wife's too. Gonna check Afiswitch out. Thx

Missed your questions completely and I see you came right but will answer and add for everyone else’s benefit.
1. Print this one out too(91a fingerprint form): http://southafricanpoliceclearance.com/data/documents/SAPS-91a.pdf
2. You pay R150(exact amount they don’t do change) at the police station and make sure to get the receipt. Receipt number must be filled in on the application form.
3. Typically yes, delays at the moment so roughly 4 weeks. Just re-did mine.

Side notes:
-Weekends. They will help you but might give you a mouthful saying that they are only open for detectives over the weekend. :)
-Finding a station to do printing can be a real pain. Took me 5 stations to get it done. Reasons varied from the guy that does it isn’t in today to the administrator that does banking is at the bank and we don’t know when she’ll be back.

This is gold. Did not even know such a service existed.
 
Got the finalised sms on the 9th September . Waiting for that 2nd sms (Applied at Linden Police Station)
