Cape Town, South Africa - The ANC / Government was caught doctoring the farm attack statistics according to the DA.It is well known that the official crime statistics are also made up and incorrect. The DA noticed that the Minister of Police, Nathi Mthethwa used the same statistics two years in a row.

This past week, in reply to a DA parliamentary question, the Minister of Police, Nathi Mthethwa, stated that 794 farm attacks occurred during which 86 murders were committed in the 2008/2009 financial year. The Minister said that this figure was reflected on page 69 in the SAPS annual report.

In and of itself, this seems unexceptional, but if one compares it to previous annual reports, something odd emerges.

The year before there were no figures on violence against the farming community contained in the annual report, but low and behold, the year before that the figures were as follows:

Farm attacks: 794
Farm murders: 86

Exactly the same as the figures given for this past year by the Minister in his parliamentary reply.

This means one of two things, either by some remarkable coincidence, across a county with a population of 40 million, not only were the exact same number of farm attacks carried out over an entire year, but the exact same number of people were murdered.

What are the chances?

A more likely explanation is that the Police service do not keep proper statistics and simply cut and past the figures from two years ago as their best guesstimate.

Either way, the Minister needs to explain himself. We will be asking detailed questions about each specific case the Minister says occurred last year and in 06/07 and, if the answer isn't convincing, we will be taking this matter up with the Speaker to investigate false information being provided to Parliament as well as with the portfolio committee on police.

Really now? Only scum would stoop so low as to pretend murders, attacks, deaths, violence, etc didn't happen. Every life counts, every occurrence matters and every crime should be accounted for. I assume this is what is called an inconvenient truth to the government of ZA

are they so lazy/stupid that they cannot change the numbers a little?

They have to hide the genocide in some way...Then again, they're so arrogant about their greed and lust for genocide, that they actually want to make the lies blatantly obvious and laugh at the nation as they steal and slaughter with impunity...

After all, it's the police already engaged in farm attacks...

In zim, they chased away farmers, with the help of police. Here they slaughter them, with the help of the police...

I'm well sure that the numbers may be even double that quoted.

I know for a fact that in some farming communities the police go around "forcing" people to drop charges and therefore close unsolved cases to make the station look good.
If you have an open case, never drop the charges, let it stick and let them do their job and catch the darn criminals.

If they doctoring crime statistics, one wonder what else are they doctoring?
MAYBE ITS TIME FOR TOTAL TRANSPARENCY.

How else are we going to fix that which is broken?

Oh really? Interesting that you know this and yet journalists who would love this sort of thing do not have these figures.

People are forced to drop murder charges? Yip, I can see how I'd be convinced to drop the charges if someone I knew or loved was murdered.

I am not for one minute defending correct statistics not being kept but you guys really do milk things for all they are worth without actually thinking about them sensibly. If someone was going to doctor figures they would not quote the same ones year after year. Use your brains... please!

Stupid dude not lazy, to busy filling their pockets to worry about trivial shyte.

Lance the only people who have the stats are the police. We all know the ANC is bad to the bone. Some ignorant people though cannot see the light. Why would they use the same as last years lance? You realize they don't fully utilize their brains :D. Brains are there for filling pockets.

WTF Lightscribe?

Your posts are becoming more absurd day by day...

They should cut the Minister of Police some slack. He probably can't read anyways, let alone count.

You would think that someone who mocks the intelligence of others would realise that it is not minister of police who "counts" the number of farm attacks or murders....

And Lancelot rides in on his noble steed and defends the ANC even after they lie to our faces.

Have you no pride?

Don't you think we deserve better Lancelot?

Calm down, Rooster! Caaaalm down. Deep breaths, boy. Deeeeeep breaths.

Edit: sorry folks, this is for rooster when he reads this in the morning. We wouldn't want him to swallow his tongue or blow a valve or anything.

*brings rooster some sugar water*

Brendan try something new. I know it's tough but try. Read and respond. Thank you.

Let's see, the OP criticises the ANC for lying to the country and you barge in and defend government. If I sound confused it is because I am. How do you defend the government for making up crime statistics Lancelot?
