Policeman thrown off Mango - How humiliating!

Hi all, and thanks for your support. I am one of the guys chucked off this flight. I tell you this will be the last time I ever catch a flight with Mango, but I suppose I don't have to tell you that.

Anyway the moral of the story here is:

People can hate America all they want, but you've got to give them credit for knowing a thing or two about customer service.

Which airline was this?

My sis was on the way back from Hawaii, and for some reason the airline's planes were grounded (I can't remember which airline though, think it was AA) and they ended up having to stay another night. The airline put them up in a hotel, and gave them each a complimentary return ticket to Hawaii to apologise for the inconvenience.

Virgin so I guess in that instance it was British customer service though the same can generally be said across the pond.

My experience with Virgin has been excellent so far. I've heard some tales about flights running out of water and other similar problems, but that seems to be a thing of the past. My only moment of unpleasantness with them was the extremely rude (but yet professional, in a weird way) boarding gate attendant at JFK. But then, this *was* New York - she was no more rude than, uhm, every single other person I dealt with at JFK. I was just disappointed that it put a blemish on my otherwise very good experience with Virgin.

Funny thing, now that you mention customer service on this side of the pond, is that the Brits complain that customer service in the UK is so poor. You know, having to wait two weeks to get a phone line and ADSL installed (from two different providers, mind you). Sheesh...

No they flew off with it, and the next morning the security wrapping had been opened and they didn't even bother closing the zips when they were done going through my stuff.

Flying with unaccompanied luggage in the hold is illegal. IATA rules for one. The pilot may get into trouble for that. They should have delayed the flight and removed your bags as per procedure.
