Policing the Internet

The Canadian government on Thursday unveiled new legislation to allow police to intercept data sent over the Internet and access web subscriber information in order to fight cybercrimes.
 
Police guy: "Awesome, we've finally done it, we've managed to get all the ISPs in on this, spend millions on infrastructure, gathered a task force... lets boot this thing up.... Ok, we suspect that Joe Soaps is dealing in illegal images, lets see what he's transmitting.....Whats this? He's encrypted his channel to transfer?! ... ... ... now what?"
