Polo airbag light

:D

"Hmmm, instead of the dealership, let me just trust these two guys with this important safety item."

Personally, I would just go to the dealership instead of having an airbag explode while driving on the highway. I'm sure you value your life more than R1300.

I didn't know what to expect until I got there dude

But you went back again? Surely after the 2nd time the thought must have crossed your mind that it might be an actual issue.

Maybe I take safety equipment too seriously.

So I have an airbag warning light on my 2011 polo..

I went to VW to see how much they'd charge to fix. Around R1300 for diagnosis :wtf:

So I thought, screw that, I'll find someone else. Went to Airbag Doctor in Boksburg. I told them I hadn't had any crashes or anything. Two foreign chaps, not very polite, can't speak much english (some Europeans I'm guessing). So they plugged in their laptop to the car, took a while, and eventually they were done - light gone (I think they just reset). Charged me R500 - cool, that's fine I thought.

The next day, the light came back on  so I went all the way back there. They did the same thing. Couple days later, it's back again

Any advice here? Not keen to pay the stealership so much cash.. Airbag Doctor clearly doesn't live up to their name

what area are you in?

Thought the guys would have enough sense to not just do the same again. Plus I had already paid these guys.

The 2nd time I went I realised they don't know very much about what they're doing

We have a 2011 Polo with the same issue. We took it in and it cost a pretty penny to replace the switch located inside the cubbyhole. I think it was R1600 or so.

You should have it sorted out ASAP, just picture what would happen if the airbag deploys while you're doing 120km/h on the freeway. If its the driver' side, you'll most likely crash. If its the passenger's side you'll be freaked out and disoriented because an airbag makes a moerse noise when it deploys

Either side you are going to **** yourself and crash...

Oh, man, I remember this one time, both front airbags and curtain airbags deployed. Woo Hoo, that was wild. Still can see the scar on my wrist from when the driver's one went off. Pity that car was a write off, it was only a month old, and I quite liked it.
