No alarm? Didn't see the indicators flashing.
Probably used the ECU port to start the car, or a cut key. No way they used a skrew driver or dismantled the starter.

I'm not convinced. How did he open the car without looking at what he was doing?

I wonder if this is staged. The video is not static, so someone is recording it, and the thief doesn't look at the camera like he knows he's being recorded.

Right at the end you can see someone recorded it off a CCTV monitor.

Also it's piss easy to break into a Polo without looking at what you're doing, screwdriver under the door lock, through the body will do it.

To start it so quickly he must have had something that plugs into the ECU port

Polo's are ridiculously easy to steal. I had a Polo Classic (2007 model) with 400km on the clock which got stolen after I quickly went to the corner cafe. I was not even away for 5 min.

Unfortunately for me it had a tracking device installed (was compulsory) so when they managed to recover the car, it had almost R18 000 worth of damage and I had to replace all locks, keys and the ignition (which they apparently broke with a screwdriver) and had to repair some bodywork and scrapes (e.g. they punched a hole straight through the metal of the drivers door next to the door handle to jimmy the door open).

Very very glad I got rid of it.

They're one of the most hijacked cars in South Africa, I'd rather they take it while I'm not in the car.

Where was it found? Were the pieces of **** who stole it found?

I thought the polo was difficult to get into hence the damage they cause to get in. Some go through the bumper or the fender.
I guess you get amateurs and pros lol :)

That's the first thing that struck me as well...

Its a video of a video - even the numbers are moving.

The video looks like it's been recorded off a screen.

We need a discussion on this?

You guys would make p*ss poor detectives. :p It's pretty obvious its a cellphone recording of a computer screen displaying security footage!!

And no, it's not staged.
