Polo not starting ?

What confuses me (easy to do), is the "clear errors" ?
Is this only after replacing the faulty part ?

Any links? Would love to get one!

Actually for about R200 you can get a ODB II Bluetooth dongle and scan the errors using you smartphone.

For no money at all you can get codes out of VW's that have climate control by using the temperature displays and some tricky button combos.

And the story so far.....
Friday early arrive at Auto Electrician. An hour tops. 2 hours later wrong part....
4pm maybe right part but can't find where it goes.....
I go to VW with part in hand. Wrong part and if you want to know where it goes bring your car to us.
Great PR to a person who just bought a VW and lives 5 minutes away from their dealership !
Will take part back for a refund and start again. At least I know its fuel pump.

For those looking for an OBD II scanner have a look on ebay or google for ELM 327 Bluetooth diagnostics.

Met more Polo owners today. Seems only me that does not know about thefuel pump sometimes not getting power.
Wonder why no recall. I'll ask VW. Yes, I've got all day :D

PR?

You didn't use their dealership in the first place but expect them to provide you with service?

I would also say just bring your car we'll sort it out.

At the end of the day you do get what you pay for...

There are plenty things wrong with Polos, but VWSA has a strict policy of turning a blind eye to owners because they pride themselves on their ginormous sales.

My cousins rear lighting box has blown twice! It's actually a bit of a joke, was driving my vivo around one day and next thing speedo, Rev counter, power steering, aircon, lights all stop working, just the engine running, so drop off my friend, kill the engine to try reset the car and nothing, wouldn't roll over, apparently some fuse behind the dash blew? The VW technicians didn't know about the fuse when I asked them, had a local mechanic come out and fix it

Unlike those bullet proof Opels.
I'm not saying that, and I am sure in some instances GMSA can be ignorant with regards to some complaints, however with the Polo it is well documented and loads more buyers complain. Agreed, they do have a higher sales volume but that does not mean they should ignore customer complaints.

GM is not that much better you know. I took by corsa bakkie for service and they didn't even have brake pads :wtf:

OT, but yes that is very true, the service you get from GM dealers varies a lot. I make a point of avoiding Reeds since I heard horror stories and currently I get amazing service from Thorp Paarl, then again I heard of plentiful unhappiness with regards to Thorp Plumstead so often times it helps to go to another dealer, no matter what brand of car it is.

Come right? If not, let me know, I'm sure we can make a plan.

Bought the car from Monument Toyota.
Scan at VW is R850. At Auto Elec R250.
Wrong part was sold to AE by the same VW dealer !

With a flat head screwdriver or something press down on the injectors and then put your ear to the other side, have someone turn the engine over, if you hear clicking you know the injectors are working, if you don't then you have no fuel.

When you turn the key to the acc position, if you don't hear a small whine from the rear of the car then your fuel pump ain't doing nothing. The pump or the relay may be done for :)

That's weird considering its fuel injected which means stepping on the gas pedal just sends an electronic command to a computer, not like its injecting more fuel like a carb based engine would. I'd take it to a dealer ASAP!

No! If you try to start a car with modern fuel injection with your foot flat on the accelerator, it'll go into "flood mode" and it will turn the injectors off completely. Don't believe me, try it for yourself.
