A High court application has succeeded and the residence of Pomfret can breathe a sigh of relief ( for now ). They will not be forcibly removed from their homes at this stage. A Huge legal battle still needs to be fought and i wish all concerned the best of luck. Go here to read more about the people of pomfret and their desperate plight. http://www.32battalion.net

been dragging on for ages now.
Lekota is behind it all without a doubt.
There was a very interesting doccie a year or two ago about it, thinking it was Special Assignment.

Yes, well. Treating these folk as a security risk is absurd. And what is even more idiotic is the fact that former MK soldiers were accomodated, why not these people? As Barry Roper said. Welcome to the rainbow nation.

thanks for the article/s K/Sneeky

also a donations page up there on the 32B website if anyone is interested. I don't know what negotiations are occuring in the background, but I would have expected more noise to be made about this travesty, especially from the old guard!

Yes, the banking details for ANY donation to help with legal fees is :

You can use " LEGAL FUND" as reference.

One of the finest fighting units in the world EVER and they have to put up with crap like this. Who wants to move to Pomfret anyway, it used to be an old asbestos mine? I think the ANC are pushing buttons that shouldn't be pushed, they have hated 32 Battalion for so long anyway. Perhaps when they get rid of the remnants from this unit it will make life easier for the ruling party with a unarmed public and an unwilling force of outstanding ex soldiers.

I think the present govt would really like to make all ex sadf members go away, we are a thorn in their side and will be until every last one of us has either died, migrated or been shunted off into oblivion.

With a fighting force of which something like 60% are unfit for duty, we have no hope. One would think the government would pull up its socks and get the army into areas where there are high levels of crime to help the police man roadblocks etc. Instead our ineffective SANDF lies around the whole day contracting AIDS and wasting my tax rands.

Just another move by the ANC to ensure that there is absolutely no opposition to their plundering of the country. Like the new gun laws are aimed at disarming the public and ensuring they cannot defend themselves against the "New Order". The really sad thing is that we put up with it. This "government" of ours is simply not fit to rule.
