Manaed to try this weekend from the EastGate store. The chicken is awesome, super crispy coating, really nice and spicy. Huge pieces which does concern me a little. The biscuit is included in all meals but gravy not, so dont fall into the trap of not ordering gravy as my wife did. Needless to say without gravy the biscuit (flat scone) is pretty much inedible. Will remain to see if the gravy is a redeeming factor.

pretty sure they are given growth hormones or genetically engineered or something to be huge. Normal chickens don't grow that big and I'm pretty sure those chickens would only be a few month old.

If you feed a chicken long enough they can get to almost 5 kgs, depending on the breed off course.

Yeah a couple years. Go ask them how old the chickens are they using.

I tried it once. I must agree, the chicken portions were huge!
Loved the taste and I was full before finishing my meal. My only complaints are the few chips and that biscuit thingy tasted terrible. I threw half of it away.

Popeyes is better than KFC but priced similar to Nandos/Mochachos, so I feel it fair to also compare those. I still rank Mochachos as #1 in SA.
I prefer home cooked meals, but when out I will only buy Popeyes again if I'm not patient to wait for my meal to get cooked.

Just had Popeyes version of the burger meal.
They have a unique way of preparing their chips and it was sublime.
Burger itself was full and tasty.
