what gets me is the following....typical rich folk thinking. I would not back down and go for a public name and shame.

The man who was attacked, Andrew Watkins, said the incident was shocking, but he would not comment further because the men behind the alleged attack had approached the police through their lawyer and asked if they could make a deal.

I think if I was the Jetta driver, I would have waited until he was outside of his car then driven off as soon as it was safe to do so. Maybe head to the Douglasdale police station which is not too far away.

My take - both driver and passenger were drunk. The driver thought it was funny as hell. Had I been the driver and my passenger got out to assault someone, I think I would have driven off and left him to his own devices.

Yeah I'm also puzzled at that. Why make a deal? I would want the guy to serve time for assault. That would teach him a lesson.

EDIT: Oh I read that wrong. I thought that the victim had asked for a deal, not the attackers. I hope the victim and police refuse the deal.

Hmmm. I'm going to follow this one closely. I think someone's daddy phoned up a tame policeman to put pressure on the victim to make this go away.
 
The guy in the Porsche is either brave or stupid.
If some one jumps out of hes car and attack me in my car I would draw my weapon out of self defense.

You don't know who is armed or not in JHB so why take the chance rather bite on your lip and let the guy go its easier and safer for both parties.

If you wanted to retaliate open the door and moer the guy with it, but don't open the ****ing window.
 
The Allan guy's FB page says he's a manager at Carl Zeiss. You'd think he would have seen this coming...
