Addos good if u want to see some elephants
Boardwalk for water/lights show in the evenings while getting dinner or something(used to be every night)
Stanley street is quite festive with the younger crowd with loads of places to eat

Cant thing if anything right now but others can chip in!

I can show you my 5 minute drive to work? That's fairly unusual... Or alternatively my 10 minute drive to Sardinia Bay, which is a magnificent mainly deserted beach?

The Vdsl/MSAN boxes everywhere in my suburb are also pretty cool.
